    The BBS Configure program for Mail(Server) does not have an entry for the mail server one wants to use. The wiki says it should. So how can I set the bbs up to use gmail or another mail server...or point me to the correct documentation.

    The Synchronet mail server *is* a mail server. I'm not sure what you're asking. If you want the Synchronet mail server to relay mail through another another mail server (your mail clients would still use the Synchronet mailserver *as* their mail server), then yes, the relay related settings setting are in the [mail] section of ctrl/sbbs.ini

    If you're running SCFG v3.20, these same settings are available in SCFG->Servers->Mail Server->SendMail Thread->Delivery Method (set to Relay).

    The wiki says it should.

    What exactly does it say? Which page? I think you're mistaken (there haven't been any Wiki updates to reference the new "Servers" section in SCFG v3.20 that I'm aware of).
