From Mortifis@VERT/MUSEUM to All on Tue Nov 17 03:10:00 2020
... long story short, I am 'launching' sbbs v2.30c as an external door from v3.18c using sbbsexec.dll which works great except for one issue ... the Dropping DTR has DCH High which causes a considerable lag before it returns to 3.18c ... is there a way to configure the com ports in v2x (v1x has same issue) to remedy that?

I'm not sure what "the Dropping DTR has DCD High" means, but it sounds like the v2 BBS is trying to disconnect the caller.

You want the shelled BBS to be able to disconnect the user? Do you have "CanDisconnect=true" in your exec/sbbsexec.ini file?

v2x only disconnects when a logged in user logs off normally as expected.
There is a long delay before returning to the calling matrix (v2 re-init'n virtual modems?) ... in the local shell I see this message http://museum.synchro.net:83/dls/dcd-high.jpg. Sometimes, but not always, there is a preceding shell message "Dropping DTR". Any ideas about how I'd config the node(s) comports to avoid that delay?

No I want the call to remain active and return to the matrix for other options and a proper logoff, as it does now, just trying to get rid of the 30 second delay when returning from shelled BBS

SBBS v2.10a supported a couple command-line options controlling the exit behavior after one call (-q and -x) - what command-line are you using to launch sbbs v2?

    sbbs.bat all v2xl versions:

    cd node%1
    ..\exec\sbbs xdi c19200

    sbbs.bat all v1x versions
    svdmasnsi.com
    cd node%1
    ..\exec\sbbs x c19200 (v1x doesn't the di options)

I've played with command line options ... was thinking one of those world renowned DigitalMan ata mdm thingies might do the trick ... been play with the AT commands but nothing is helping

Did you try toggling the "Drop DTR to Hang Up" option in SCFG?

Actually, I don't think that's going to help either. sbbs v2 is going to try to hang-up and you're telling the uart/modem emulator to not let it, so yeah, it's going to retry and throw an error after a timeout.

Beyond recompiling or patching sbbs.exe, I don't really see a fix for ya.

Yes, one of the first things I tried; no worries, a short delay in the return allows for a moment of reflection :-)

well, get on it ... Just kidding! :) I appreciate all of the help and patience you giving already, thank you.
I personally consider it 'working' under this setup; 10x's better than a net2bbs/netfoss setup.
