We're fostering a new pup named Sam this week. He's 6 years old, picked up as a stray by the SPCA. Not sure what happened to him before now, I can't imagine a dog going stray for that long. He's affectionate, quiet, and spending most of his time sleeping. My son said this is probably the best night of sleep he's had in a long time, with being a stray then being in a shelter.

He's got a bad cut on his snout that needed stiches, and he got neutered yesterday. I'm fine with him sleeping it off...

So far, he's getting along well with Chilly, our Cairn terrier/Chihuaha mix.

Good for you. Makes me happy to see folks who care about dogs.

He's a good looking boy. Thanks for helping him, and maybe you'll end
    up keeping him... :-)

Very Cool!! Love hearing about animals finding their forever home! We had rescued a Boxer quite some time ago and I had never had a dog that was so in tune with everything and everyone. You could see it in her eyes. She helped us through many hard times and is still missed badly. Cancer took her a few years back. Now we have a rescued German Sheperd and a rescued small Terrier mix. Quite the pair and complete buddies. So funny when they are playing! :)

Nice! I love Cairn Terrirs -- been adopting them since the 90's. I adopted my current Cairn Terrier (Karnak) in 2009. He was rescued from a puppy mill and was born in 2007. I can't believe he's about to turn 15. Crazy. You wouldn't know, though. He still acts like he's 2 years old. I don't see too many Cairn Terriers lately so your post stood out for me.

I've always loved Cairn and Norwich terriers - a woman down the street has a norwich, and everyone who's had one says they have a great temperament.

Cairn and Chihuaha is an interesting mix. Chilly has a real personality, big dog vibes, and loves to be a companion to me - with none of the high-strung, yappt chihuaha qualities people know.
