I don't think I'd like a winterish place. I live in the southern part of Australia, and while it can get cold, winter here is just cold and grey, no snow and it doesn't get below zero at any time.

Spring and Summer is more my thing, the ability to enjoy being outside.

The best thing is to live in a not wintery place that is right next to a wintery place which happens to be your water source.

See, a bit up norht here it gets snowy as heck. Then in Spring the snow turns into water and the water irrigates the grass, so grass grows tall and strong. The horses love it.

You end up having the benefit of a hard winter without the issues of a hard winter :-)

Haven't hit the age where the cold becomes a real problem. I don't like it as much as I did before, but its not because of
pain, I simply don't feel the need to tough it out. I used to wear just a shirt, nothing underneath on cold days, no jacket.
Now I don't feel the need to feel cold.

Understood and agreed. I live in a pretty hot, but VERY humid area
(panhandle of Florida), so "dry heat" seems nice to me. Here it's about
the same months that are difficult, possibly with September included. November, December, January, February are pretty decent.

Remote start on your car is a really nice thing to have, assuming
your significant other doesn't habitually take your car off of
"auto" for the AC setting when riding with you.

    Haha, yes indeed!

Seems to have picked up some. I have nobody in my Twitlist as I usually take the good with the bad and reading some of the messages are entertaining. :)

i havent noticed any difference period.

maybe some people had bad packets.

Years ago, my parents indicated their desire to relocate to Arizona. My mom's argument, "It's a dry heat." Mom, seriously, it's the 10th Level of Hell during the summer. Both her and my father kept their AC set to 78 during the day and 72 at night--in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA! Whenever I'd go to their house I'd secretly sneak the AC to a lower setting. My dad would pull out a blanket when the temperature got to 72. Apparently, the heat of Arizona would be "more appropriate" to their temperature sensitivities. Who knows?!?!

    They stayed in Southern California.

Apparently, my dad likes the house a little cooler now that my mom passed away.
He likes 72 as the "common" temperature in the house. I still have no idea why they'd ever consider moving to Arizona. Insanity.

Best advice for people moving here... It'll still be hot, but about
15-20F less hot inside the car than it would be otherwise.

    Insanity.

Generally keep it at 72 myself. I will say the solar definitely worth it
in the summers keeps the electric bill reasonable in the summer months.

Thankfully, allergies is something I've never had to deal with. I know

Pretty hot still, roughly the same as peak summer in most of the
country. September and the first part of October don't feel as bad
    because it's getting cooler.

We are planning to leave Los Angeles by end of this year to Florida.
Anyone have tips on what city in Florida has the best weather (i.e., least humidity) ? Right now thinking central Florida, possibly Orlando. Or, on the Gulf side, in Tampa, seems nice... will be going back to Florida in May to search for a place to buy (or, possibly rent for a few months?)

The weather in LA can't be beat, but hopefully some areas of Florida are not too humid?

Would love to hear your thoughts, or anyone who has lived in Florida?

    take care,
    Alex

I have lived in Florida for 20 years now, in the Panhandle. I don't believe there is an area in Florida that is NOT very humid, at least for much of the year.

That was funny! Moved from Tx to AZ 2 years ago. Yea the seasons change every day. :)

A seaon I don't miss in Texas is the mosquito season. It seems to last
all year there. Only monsoon season do I see any and nothig like in Texas.

I like AZ. This place is amazing. Can't say I miss neighbors in Texas.

    hxtr
    Bisbee AZ.

I imagine it has something to do with the seasons changing. People getting out more.

    the seasons changed??

It changes 2 or 3 times a day here in TX/AR.
