It's a quick read, and haunting - about a plague release from a Russian "anti-plague" research facility. The book goes in depth about the
systems in place to manage and mitigate outbreaks, all a little out of
date given our current head of HHS and our exit from the WHO.
More chilling than the potential spread of a disease with a high
R-naught factor was the implication that the people left to rebuild
society afterwards would be the people least interested in preserving
mankind as a whole - the people that would shut their families and
friends out of their bunker would be the ones rebuilding a society.
Where would that leave us?
