I assume you are talking about the most recent iteration of The Mummy, the one that got three films made. In my opinion, the third was a fine adventure movie, but not an actual The Mummy movie, if that makes any sense to you. Also, the Rick X Eve chemistry was not really there.
Yes! I was trying to think of "Brandon Fraser" :D The 3rd one was "OK" but as you point out that chemistry wasn't there.

How I miss Allan Rickman :-( Still I think it is sad the last film he acted in was a total turd. Picture it, you have an awesoem career and
the last thing you do is total crap instead of a magnus opus.

To be honest, I liked her better in the first Mummy movie. I din't like her look that much in the 2nd film.
Where I was at the time would have been a 4-5 hour drive one way. Since
I enjoy driving it would have been fine. I could have had some of my DVDs autographed in Japanese <G>

We get AntennaTV here, Buzzr and a variety of QVC's for the wives to empty husband based credit cards on <G> but no MeTV *sigh* If FireTV carried it
I'd feel as if I'm in McDonalds - lovin' it!
Well, that's okay. All his fans will remember him for the great parts

There was a British director named Michael Powell who did several fantastic films in the 1940's and 1950's. including "A Matter of Life
and Death," which I should have included on my list, and was a big influence on Martin Scorsese.
He later did a horror movie about a serial peeping tom/killer that was very vivid and somewhat tarnished his career for people who were not as familiar with his earlier work. I have not seen that one.

For a while, there was a cable network that showed old shows. Then
they strayed from that format. They may be back to it again. TV LAND.
I wonder if there is a way to stream MeTV from their website?
Here, I can only get it because it is on our cable. Now that
everything is digital, it is difficult to pull in the over the air stations from the closest TV markets. If I lived close enough to pull them in, and didn't get MeTV on cable, I would try getting a cheap
antenna and seeing if I could watch it that way.

Are you talking about that movie with Val Kilmer? I don't think the
movie was worthy of making it to the list, but it had some awesome performances (thand the film was actually quite good)

I have seen several. I don't like the newer ones as much, but they are not bad. The original Japanese version (not the US version with
overdubs, but the one with subtitles) is indeed a classic.

The Sound of Music (1965) - I love this film because it reminds me
My folks took me to see this for my Birthday. I remember being
I've had the pleasure of going on the "Sound of Music" tour while in Salzburg, Austria, so I've been able to visit many of the places in the movie in real life. The hostel I stayed at screened it daily, and were still doing so when I went back 6 years later.
Wow. Nice! Have you been to the mountain where the opening scene was shot? ;-)
Julie sings "The hills are alive, with the sound of music" lol

Yeah, I can see where something like that could negatively affect one's career. Sounds like he crossed a line that viewers were not willing to
cross. Knowing our audience is important.
Being that close, that would have been a great road trip!
Yes it would have. One of those sorts of drives you didn't want to take alone in case you got a bit sleepy but short enough where it would have
been worth it - and I didn't wish to do it solo.
Unless it's fairly new, they don't allow streaming off their website.
They do tease you with their listing of shows however.
Our cable doesn't carry it because no local channels do. No TV for Me <G>

There's a "Making of" video on Disney+ that's very interesting.
Yeah, we quote it too much, and my son went through a "point like a Thermian" phase.
I'm just sort of curious as to what you all think are some
of the better pre-2020 movies of all time. Go back as far
or as little as you wish, list a few or just a couple.
Time Bandits (1981)
Fracture (2007)

I can understand that. I take some solo road trips and always seem to wind up with one day thrown in there somewhere (usually, most likely
the one where I am returning home) that are pretty long. I would like
to avoid them but, if I can't, I make sure to take plenty of rest
breaks.

then when I clicked a couple of links I realized that they do not. :(

Time Bandits (1981)
Big Fish (2003)

There's an interesting infographic showing how much Godzilla has had to grow during successive movies - to keep up with the size of the Tokyo Skyline!
The original Godzilla was 164 feet tall, to peer over the top of the tallest buildings in Tokyo in the 1950s.
Dumas Walker wrote to POINDEXTER FORTRAN <=-
You know, I had not even thought about that but, yeah, he must have
grown quite a bit taller! Most the buildings he stomps in the original are not very tall at all.
Of course one can't forget Fast Times at Ridgmont High especially that
