  • Long FIDO areatags

    I am having an issue with some echos for some reason. The names are longer than 8 characters, so they will not import and state they are passthru.

    I added the areatags in the NEWSGROUP section and it still will not import. It just seems weird.

    You'll need to provide more information. *What* exactly are you trying to import? How are you trying to import it?

    echo-tags up to 64 characters are supported by SBBSecho without using an area file (e.g. areas.bbs). When using an area file, echo-tags up to 35 characters are supported by SBBSecho.

    You didn't actually mention SBBSecho or what version of anything you're actually running, so these are just guesses at relevant information for you.

    Sorry for the lack of information. Someone was talking to me and I got confused. lol.

    I did fix the issue, I notices some weird characters in the areas.bbs file. I fixed that and everything is now working.

    Lol. I actually did not see any updates to the areas.bbs file until I ran sbbsecho. The file was corrupt because I manually edited the file and broke it. So, YES! I did something wrong... But I learned from it.
