• EZLOGON WALL Issue

From Daryl Stout@VERT/TBOLT to All on Mon Apr 5 07:37:00 2021
Pistolgrip originally did the EZLOGON and ACEMTRX utilities,
and I have both of them on the BBS. However, I was wanting
to enable the WALL function, but the system comes up with
"Add Something To The Wall", but when you press a key to
do so, it exits the utility. Also, the option for the
Quick Logon (I want set for Visiting Sysops and above)
does not seem to work right.

I installed a fresh copy of the BIN and SRC files to the
    \SBBS\EXEC directory.

The ACEMTRX logon is working fine, but I'm having problems
with the WALL portion of EZLOGON. It's not critical that I
have it (it was online at one time), but I must be missing
something to get the wall module of the door to work.

If you have the source, I'd just start debugging it. If you don't, you can use 'unbaja' to recreate the source. With the source, you (or we) should be able to fix whatever the issue is.

My programming ends at setting the clock on the microwave oven. <G>

The source code is provided with it, but I wouldn't know where to begin
on it. It used to work, but now it gets to the display saying "No Wall
Entries Exist. Add something to the Wall??", then the [Hit Any Key] prompt
is there. No matter what I hit, it quits the door. Mojo said it's doing
the same thing on his system as well. The rest of the door works just fine...and I have other wall/grafitti doors online.

However, earlier today, I went to update sbbs_dev and sbbs_run -- but
when I tried to load the Synchronet Control Panel, it aborted, saying it
could not find archive.dll -- so I had to restore from the backup of my \sbbs\exec directory.

If I have time and remember, I'll try it and see what I find.

I think you're the first Windows sysop to try the v3.19 development build. Thanks for the problem report!

You can solve that particular by downloading this file into your Synchronet "exec" directory:
    https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/raw/master/3rdp/win32.release/libarchive/bin/archive.dll

Tomorrow's daily-build should have that file included in the sbbs_dev.zip.

No rush...it was a nice addition, but it's not critical for me to have
that part of the program...considering everything else with it works.

I'm running Windows 10 32-bit on the BBS computer.

I'll just get it later today...the lawn man and the bug man are due
by today, then I'll be down for thunderstorms tomorrow (as we get into
    the heart of tornado season).

    Rob,

Well, while archive.dll was in the update, z1lib.dll was not,
and the Control Panel aborted. So, it was back to the backup
    again.

I'll try to download the new 3.19 build later in the week.
I have ham radio traffic nets to do tonight (Tuesday), then
I'll be offline for a threat of severe weather Wednesday and
    Wednesday night.

As for the EZLOGON WALL deal, just whenever you get a
chance...I have other wall deals I can use. But, I will
    note that it did work awhile back, but no longer works now;
and I did a fresh copy of the SRC and BIN files to the
    \SBBS\EXEC directory.

And that file could be found here: https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/raw/master/3rdp/win32.release/zlib/bin/zlib1.dll

I'll get that included in tomorrow's daily build archive too.
