  • issues getting dosemu wor

    Hey there everybody. This will be no surprise to anybody that's been following along in IRC, but I've had some issues getting dosemu configured properly with sbbs ever since my first attempt last weekend. Or vice versa, of course, as dosemu seems to be working fine but sbbs keeps complaining to me of 12/24 11:08:40 term Node 2 <Sprite> DOS programs not supported: pit /path=/sbbs/node2/
    At first I tried snagging the latest 3.18 tag repository from git and recompiling. Had a few hiccups from there, reinstalled my configuration and started again, then just redid everything following along the steps from
    * http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:dosemu
    * http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:door:index
    * http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:door:thepit
    but I can't get past the same bleepin' error. I know I'm not providing any useful debugging information with this post, but I'm not really sure what I should all paste here (and/or to pastebin with an appropriate link for you guys) as far as configuration and synchronet build information, etc...
    Can anybody help me figure out what information to get together for ya'll in order to get a little help with this? I'd really appreciate it a lot.

    Set "UseDOSemu=true" in the [bbs] section of your ctrl/sbbs.ini file.

    Sorry if this is kind of a dup reply... I replied to you once before, but somehow it was to this message that had gotten stuck in FIDO_SYNCDATA on my system. Looks like I've got more than just dosemu misconfigurations going on right now. :(
    Anyway as I had said in that other reply that I made amongst the bits 'n bytes in SYNCDATA, I have had UseDOSemu=true in my sbbs.ini in the correct section for the last several attempts, and it's not changing anything. I even snagged all of the source for the most recent stable tag and built it again. :( Not sure what the heck is going on here.

    What about DOSemuConfPath in sbbs.ini?

    Looking at the code, I don't see how a missing or blank DOSemuConfPath could result in the error message reported.

    I'm running the one that was downloaded from git with TAG=sbbs318b.
    Should I be using the absolute latest build, or the latest stable
    build?

    What about DOSemuConfPath in sbbs.ini?

    I have left that unspecified, as my dosemu and dosemu.bin both
    reside in the default location of /usr/bin. I could try setting that
    manually to see if it makes a difference, but I had the impression that it would not...

    If you want the latest Linux-DOSemu integration changes, then yes, you should be using the aboslute latest.
