I'd love to provide an excellent reason as to my lack of presence over the past nine months; I have nothing "excellent" to provide. From May of 2021 through the end of the year, one thing after another hit my family. Finally, we are starting to see normalcy again.

Without sounding too morbid, my mother passed away last May (no illness) then two months later my father-in-law passed away (July, suddenly, no illness). Neither my mother or father-in-law knew each other, socially, or had a pact to terminate their lives in succession, nor did they like each other. It was rough couple months.

Following my mother's death, I discovered that she didn't keep my father in the loop on anything related to finances, house maintenance, legal, etc., or have him on most contracts; therefore, I had to spend the better part of three months figuring everything out to get my father into an environment where he can manage the finances himself without relying upon yours truly. After my father-in-law's death, his estate decided to be overly complicated, and my wife left it up to me to deal with that, too.

My oldest son, without more than three weeks notice, decided to pack up and move to Boston. Youngest daughter decided to move into his old room. Wife decided to finish remodelling the kitchen. The list goes on and on.

What does this mean for me? Well, it's now February 9 and I am finally able to concentrate on me. The past nine months were hell. I did take a quick "vacation" to Southern California with the wife to "get away from it all" and we just got back from Boston after seeing my son (and we brought the other three children). I've come to the conclusion that vacations are code for "let's spend too much money on stuff we don't need because Dad is in an agreeable mood."

Anyway... I'm back. The BBS was a victim of last year simply because I couldn't keep my head above water long enough to care and feed it along with keeping the rest of my life afloat and fed. Hopefully, you are all willing to welcome me back into this wonderful community.

Dont give up on your BBS it took quite a long time for me to develop
mine and create a kind of retro internet platform using all the old tech
we had back in the day but it was worth it, keep trying you will make a comeback! the world still needs BBS's!
