Ok this is weird, I can make a poll from my BBS and it works, But posting a message on Dovenet does not work, It worked fine when I ran 3.17.
Why does a slyvote post to the HUB into a dovenet message base, but not a message posted from my BBS?
and I just today did a brand new fresh install of 3.19 just to make sure I didn't accidently screw up a setting somewhere.

i have on several occasions spent 20 minutes or more trying to figure out why something wasn't working, only to discover it was basically disabled. with a friendly little comment from myself telling me why i disabled it.

point is.. double check the simple things too :) i'm sure you'll get it sorted out.

or i'll make fun of you. hehe

Why
does a slyvote post to the HUB into a dovenet message base, but not a message posted from my BBS?

When posting a poll, SlyVote just runs exec/postpoll.js, which is the standard script included with Synchronet to post a poll.

Poll messages are a little bit different from standard messages, but I'm not sure why it would get successfully posted when a standard message doesn't.

My money is on the password not being set properly on the VERT callout command line.

But it looks like his system is able to successfully post polls on Vertrauen. And from the log he posted a few days ago, it did say his outgoing REP packet was successfully sent. I don't think those would work if his password wasn't set correctly in his VERT configuration.

Yes, I'd have to agree with you on that.

I think I saw (in IRC) that DM figured out that his QWK account on VERT
had the P-restriction, which had some kind of loophole that allowed polls
to be posted even though messages were restricted. Fixed now I believe.

DM just said there was a post restriction on OUTWEST and he removed it.
