Man we are living in shitty times.

Recently we had really cold weather. This poor lady's car didn't start, so she was forced to take the bus to work.

She left work, walked to the bustop. Nobody shoveled it out, and she slipped and hit her head on a short metal fence. The pointy kind.

So she's laying in the ground dying, and it's like -15 windchill. People are stepping over her, and hundreds of cars go by and nobody does anything.

So it makes the news and the city investigates. Turns out this lady DID call 911. The dispacher decides this is not a priority, but they call some ambulance company that is contracted with the city. They SAY they drive by there, but they never got out to look. Apparently she was obscured by a snowbank. Well, it did snow like 4 inches or whatever.

Ambulance company president pretty much says fuck you, we did nothing wrong. they also say people call 911 at the bus stop all the time and then get on the bus and drive off. there are no records of this happening.

The sad thing is her husband recently died. she has 2 children. now they
have nobody. this lady was just a hard worker trying to support her family.

It just seems like people used to want to do their jobs and to be helpful,

People is selfish. You can't count on them ever helping you. After you help your friends a couple of times and find out they don't reciprocate, you stop helping out because nobody cares if you live or die.

The point of the thread is precisely that the problem is becoming widespread.

The human touch of interactions is getting lost. Job applications are done online, with candidates using computer generated CVs designed to please computer based CV evaluators. Dating and matchmaking is becoming automated and algorythm based. People don't make friends at the workplace anymore.

My generation was trained not to give a flying fuck for anybody. It is not a problem of finding better people to be with. It is a problem with society becoming poisoned.

If you hit Spanish media you will notice so many studies showing that people inmy age bracket is mostly lonely, lacks the ability to form lasting friendships,has trouble sustaining long term romantic relationships.

If you are powerful by any meaning of the word (you make money, you have outstanding skills, you get the hot chicks) then your own social circle will try to pull you down because you will be perceived as a threat. This can be seen as early as in kindergarden. You are either medicore like everybody else or they will try their best so you are.

Telling people to just go out and make friends is like telling a homeless to just go buy a house in a country where the house market is crashed.
