Don't you guys find it pathetic that there's a fucking ballon floating
in the usa and the military says they can't get it?

i'm sure they could image atleast 3 different ways.
also why can't they grapple it and bring it into a hanger.
or grapple it with a drone and fly it up even further.
fly up to 66,000 feet and try to grapple it. The air is a bit cool and thini don't have a hot air balloon. they have brought up a hot air balloon before at that altitude.
I ain't no Trump fan. But I agree, he would've ordered it to bet shot down immidiately after discovering it. He's been warning the U.S. about China even before he took office.

... Ahah! I've got you on another thread now!
Open source doesn't mean *anyone* can make changes (e.g. adding bugs or intentional vulnerabilities) - but it does mean that *anyone* can thoroughly analyze the source code and report issues and even suggest fixes. --
my point is there's a false sense of security in open source software.
I think in the end, it's a wash. I think closed source and open source might be on the same level. Possibly, even closed source is safer.

And there are organizations of volunteers and researchers doing this constan
There will always be security vulnerabilities; security is transient.
There are entire conferences full of people that would disagree with you, but you do you ;)
Where were these people those 2 years that heartbleed was in the code and being exploited ;)

But I would imaging that it is hard to hide the functionality
of "master key" in open-source code.
dude, opensource has been a security risk since it's been open
source.
Years ago, I was looking for a job and I had a job interview at one company t trust because, since it's open-source, he thought anyone could go in and p e it works well and is secure.

For every example of an open source vulnerability that went undetected for years, a cursory google search can give you an example of a closed-source vulnerability that went undetected for years, too.
There people that blindly believe something and then there's facts.
open source not safer than closed source if you look at the big picture. it's not safe if people don't do their part as contributers and members of t

Well said. In either system there are a core group of people doing product support. In closed source, you're assured a certain level of support because the developers on the project are assigned to the project. I n open source th e developers are there out of dedication, and may come and go depending on interest in the project.
