When I was a kid and I was into consoles, when they announced the next gen one I felt bummed because that meant the console I had at home was going to lose its support.

Lol, ok.

I think the main reason for getting a game console is playing the exclusive games. If somebody is a sucker for Nintendo exclusives, then I get it :-)

When rereading this post the words "Old Technology" popped in my head.

Just had to say that.

Old tech doesn't bother Me a bit.
If I press the Power Switch and it turns on so I can use it, why worry?

Because at the time I interpretated it as having no more games made for my console, which meant if I ever wanted to expand my collection I would need to invest in a more modern system, which was a no-no.

Mind you, second hand market for games wasn't much of a thing. There was not that much Internet and not many dedicated game stores.

So yeah I kept replaying my collection for long. In addition, small studios kept releasing games for the old system for quite a while so the deal was not that bad.

Judging by Japanesse prices you can expect the tech demo to be anywhere from 5 to 10 USD.

Nintendo is not known for changing price policies. They have only done so when things have crashed very hard for them or when they face retailer revolt, like when Toys 'R' Us broke their price agreements on games because they had so much videogame material they could not sell at Nintendo prices.

I am not a Gamer
My only "Console" is a 2600.
Ai ' 't had it on fer years but it is still in the same place wait to be used . The 2600 was used a lot when we bought it
Later I got a C=64 and played games on it as well as learning how to program in BASIC and using a BBS to learn more about computing, etc

When I was using a 486 I got a gaming magazine that had a CD in it.
Novastorm demo was one game I really liked playing.
Few years later I was in a computer store and saw they had marked down so.me CD's with the Novastorm game on them to the price of 99 cents USD.
I bought several of those CD's and gave them to others since I really enjoyed playing the demo.

Novastorm and a Maze game for the C=64 were the games I liked playing most, but never could get to the end.

Haven't wanted to be lay any game for a long time Gladd You enjoy what You have
