An astounding number of freedom-infringing bills are alive-and-well in Congress, and they could be voted on ANYTIME.

The list includes but is surely not limited to:

A 20% tax on firearms and 50% tax on ammunition
    Feinstein’s notorious “Assault Weapons” Ban
    A ban/limitation on ammunition sales
    A ban on “high-capacity” magazines
A ban on guns that lack “smart” technologies

A ban on guns that lack “smart” technologies

What are smart technologies for firearms? A way the gov't can remotely
stop them from working? Guns that don't fire at all?

Honestly I have never heard that term before but don't like the sound of it.

It is technology that will not let the weapon fire if you are not the registered owner. Maybe Biometrics. Micro-stamping of the fired shell is also being tossed around.

An astounding number of freedom-infringing bills are alive-and-well in Congress, and they could be voted on ANYTIME.

Bullshit. Congress is republican (and NRA) controlled. you know damn well they're not going to get brought to the floor and voted on.

The list includes but is surely not limited to:

A 20% tax on firearms and 50% tax on ammunition
There's a $200 tax on owning "destructive devices", such as those that require ATF approval for civilians to own.
You'll find a lot more reloaders if an expensive ammunition tax goes into effect, that's for sure, but I doubt such taxes will prevent anything.
    Feinstein’s notorious “Assault Weapons” Ban
Fun fact, the "assault weapons ban" didn't actually ban much. There's also very little evidence it did any good.
    A ban/limitation on ammunition sales
There are bans and limitations on many other things in the USA, (eg: a 30-day limit of 9g of both ephedriene and pseudophedrine come to mind, as I have allergies). I'm not sure limiting the amount of ammo I can buy at a time will do much good, because I already have a small stockpile, as I tend to buy more whenever I can get a good price on it.
    A ban on “high-capacity” magazines
This irks me, because I'm lazy. I don't like changing/reloading magazines when I'm out at the range.

A ban on guns that lack “smart” technologies

I think out of this list, this is the thing that irks me the most. They want to microstamp a code on each shell when a gun is fired. Such a technology does not exist. Also, guns are fairly simple mechanical tools, such a technology, if it did exist, would be fairly easy to tamper with or remove.
