People are wearing the mask around here (they vary from
bandanas, scarves, simple paper ones, to some that look like
the N95s), but what I've noticed is that people are not doing
the distancing as much anymore. Even the people on the news
shows now sit closer together, reporters interviewing people
nolonger use long boom microphones and just stand right next to
the people they want to talk to. Tv shows with audiences fill
every seat, no one wears masks, and show guests hug or shake
hands with the host (eg Tonight Show with Stephen Colbert).
So it seems to me that the verdict of what to do is still all
over the map and some people have decided that having the covid
jab is good enough.

I think people just want to go back to living their lives the way things were before Covid. Nothing wrong with that. How people deal with Covid or don't deal with it is their own choice.

Yeah. I now have a if I can't beat em join em attitude. The "people" in my neighborhood just don't want to get vaccinated. Their the people you see on the news every night protesting mandatory vaccines. You can bring a horse to water but you can't make them drink it.

Last summer I helped unload some hay trucks. I wore a mask
all throughout the process. When I was finished and I took
the mask out, the mask had many visible dust and hay

Did you have a dust-layer on your skin that was covered by the
mask? Or did the mask do a pretty good job keeping that part
of your face clean?
We did a lot of haying work every year for decades on the farm.
We never wore any masks, but tried to stay upwind from the dust
clouds. Stacking the bales in the barn was a different story;
it would stifling to wear a mask - and we never thought of
bothering with them anyway.

Don't they only have antibodies against one strain though?

If that's the case then the vax is pretty usless.
You can't please everyone. It seems democrats will call out republican presidents on any little thing, and republicans will call out democratic presidents on any little thing. Each side seems to have their own set of "facts" they believe are right.

Yesterday I went to work, had a minor sore throat so my voice was a little deeper than normal, The weather just changed here so this happens every year the fall, My Boss asked if I was ok, My bet is he thought I had covid.
I agree. He did do a lot but everyone said he wasn't doing enough. Now Biden is making vaccines mandetory and people don't like that either. Man I'd hate to be a politician. Too many dicks to suck to make people happy.

they say they dont. but the magically vaccines work.

? The point was if someone has natural antibodies, their
antibodies would only be against whatever strain they
caught. The vaccines are supposed to protect against
multiple strains. I don't know what you mean about the
vaccines being useless in that case..

Where I work we've had a lot of covid over the last two years, so people are little on edge there.

Our bodies begin to produce the necessary antibodies as soon as
it detects a virus. Sometimes the body can deal with the
invader very well, and we don't become too uncomfortable. In
any case, as soon as we become well, our bodies can deal with a
repeat of that strain immediately. If not, and a new variant
surfaces, ... rinse, repeat.

Does your employer require it's employees be vaccinated?
